Second Place to Visit:

Moray

Inca Agricultural Center of Moray

Moray is an impressive Inca agricultural center where crop experiments were conducted at different altitudes. Its concentric circular terraces create a gradient of microclimates, with higher temperatures at the center and lower temperatures towards the edges. This system allowed the simulation of up to 20 different microclimates, facilitating the study and optimization of crops under various conditions.

It is believed that Moray not only served as an agricultural laboratory for the Urubamba Valley but also as a model for calculating agricultural production throughout the Tahuantinsuyo, ensuring the Inca Empire’s food security.

Third place to visit:

Maras Pueblo

It is a town rich in history and culture, featuring traditional attire and attractions from the Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Republican periods. It stands out for its cobblestone streets and colonial doorways, many of which are adorned with coats of arms of noble families and local chiefs from the 17th century, offering a glimpse into its fascinating past.

Fourth place to visit:

Las Salineras

Among the countless tourist attractions in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one stands out for its breathtaking natural beauty and mysterious origins: the Maras Salt Mines. Located 50 km from Cusco, this incredible site consists of thousands of small salt pools carved into the mountainside, forming a stunning landscape that has been used for salt extraction since pre-Incan times.
